Supporting patients non-clinically (tweet chat idea)

A great way to provide non-clinical and holistic support is to provide

specialist social prescribing link workers. This can be beneficial before and after surgery for patients that have or are going to have hip or knee replacement operations. It could be a great way to potentially involve and create partnerships with the voluntary sector.

See the original tweet here: (1) Simon Bromhead on Twitter: "A2 I notice lots of mention of supporting self management. Do you think a specialist social prescribing link worker could provide holistic/non-clinical support to patients? Could it improve health for operation & support longer term lifestyle changes? #SolvingTogether" / Twitter

@simonbromhead I completely agree with this and had a similar idea. I think a specialist social link worker could play fundamental role in reduce the load on clinicians and can provide essential support for patient that are awaiting surgery. Perhaps we could go one step further and specialist social link workers could aid in preventing individual needing to undergo these surgeries by utilising information and being the first response to help those that are in need. I have created a book which is digital and paperback which gives individual education on how to get the most out of their body through way.
